MEET BRANDELL
Brandell Adams is a lifelong resident of Saginaw County, raised in the rural community of Bridgeport Township by a hardworking single mother who juggled three jobs as a nurse in Essexville, Frankenmuth, and Montrose. Growing up in poverty and eventually being placed in foster care, Brandell gained a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing Michigan’s most vulnerable communities. This experience fuels his passion for economic justice and youth advocacy.
Brandell is the Chair of the Saginaw Democratic Party, where he has invested nearly a decade organizing for working-class families. Since officially joining the Democratic Party in 2015, he has championed uplifting communities and delivering for the people of Michigan. His deep commitment to youth intervention programs has helped double services and outreach for at-risk youth, many of whom share similar lived experiences.
Appointed as a Bridgeport Township Trustee in 2021, he has since been re-elected twice. Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed Brandell to serve on the Michigan Board of Psychology, now serving as Chair of the Disciplinary Committee. In addition to holding past leadership roles in faculty diversity and equity councils, he supports second-chance learners as the Second Chance Pell Coordinator and Work Study/Student Employment Coordinator at Delta College.
Brandell holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Political Philosophy from Saginaw Valley State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Government from Regent University. A former youth pastor and active church member, Brandell’s life of service continues to be grounded in faith, equity, and a deep belief in second chances.
